The European Music Council and Inova+ held their first think-tank session that took place online on the 18th of November.
More than 50 music sector stakeholders participated in a brainstorming session organised by the EMC and Inova+. The participants commented on the results of the questionnaire carried out by the consortium to receive inputs on how the MusicAIRE open calls should be shaped. This Think-Tank was also a great opportunity to discuss the needs of the music sector that the open calls should meet.
During this session, participants were organised into three groups focused on green, digital, and just and resilient recovery.
Most organisations participating in the think-tank agreed that the pandemic has accelerated many developments and challenges of the sector connected but not limited to loss of many opportunities for cocreation, royalty payments, and participation in live performances.
The main topics discussed in the three groups were audience diversity, how to engage people, the ecological transition, difficulties faced by musicians to start their career, emerging artists revenues, and better conditions for self-employed.
The project will take a step further on December 16th when participants and the consortium will have the opportunity to meet again for a focus session.
